Youth Ministry
Ronny Ownbey
Youth Pastor
With a strong Christian foundation in the church, Ronny felt the call to youth ministry at the Snellville Church of God almost 4 years ago. Ronny believes that a Godly foundation must be set and nurtured way before our youth become adults.
Ronny’s talents and gifts are demonstrated each week as he directs the drama group, “Inner-Action”, coordinates all youth outings, teaches the youth Sunday School class and teaches Wednesday night class. Ronny has recently been accepted into Lee University’s correspondence program where he will major in Pastoral Ministry with an emphasis in youth ministry. When asked what his battle cry for youth ministry was he responded, “I’ve seen the damage the world has done to so many teens in my life. The enemy has had his turn, now it’s ours. It’s time to begin taking the ground the devil has stolen out from under us. It’s time for us to stand our ground, and begin moving forcefully against the enemy’s advance. Chains must fall, addictions must die. One day we will stand, and our cry will no longer be, ‘Lord save me from this bondage,’ but it will be ‘Freedom!’”

Jennifer Brummett
Music Pastor
Jennifer Brummett has served as the Music Pastor of Snellville Church of God for 16 years. Her love and desire to sing gospel music began and developed in her home state of New Jersey at the early age of 3 years old. After 9 years of formal vocal training, Jennifer felt the call to full time ministry. She has fulfilled many jobs as music Pastor including directing the choir, leading youth praise and worship, and coordinating music groups and ensembles. Weekly, Pastor Brummett relies on the leading of Holy Spirit to guide and direct her as she endeavors to reach higher heights and greater goals for the kingdom through Praise and Worship.

Prison Ministries
Lance & Jann Marthaler
Prison Chaplains
Lance and Jann Marthaler have been licensed Chaplains with the Church of God for approximately 4 ½ years. Lance Marthaler began attending the Snellville Church of God approximately 10 years ago. Shortly after God led him here he met his lovely bride Jann. They were married in December 1997, and began their pursuit in ministry together.
The Marthalers reach out to hundreds of inmates on a monthly basis through their ministry. When asked about their burden for ministry, Chaplain Lance replied: “Over 80% of all inmates return to prison. The recidivism rate in the state of Georgia is a little higher. Rehabilitation programs inside the prisons teach men a profession, but they don’t change the inner man, the heart. When hard times fall on them, they return to where their heart is, old friends and old habits. They have no one to rely on but themselves. Life is very tough when they first get out of prison. I want to make a difference. The only way I can is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The only one I know that can change hearts. I know this because He changed me!”
Chaplain Jann ministers through the gift of music. With roots in Nashville, Tennessee, she became a highly accomplished keyboardist and song writer. Her accomplishments don’t end there. She is a valued member of the “Ephraim Singers” Praise Band here at Snellville Church of God as well as an artist and graphic designer.
Chaplain Lance currently serves on the Board of Directors at Snellville Church of God, is the Senior Sound Technician, and is an Entrepreneur with his business Habakkuk Enterprises.
